                                                                                                EXALTED RULER'S MESSAGE

We expect May to be a stellar month regarding Lodge functions, beginning with a Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, the sixth; and a Mother’s Day Brunch and program on Sunday the Fourteenth.
May is also a month of reflection, culminating with Memorial Day which is a time for reflection and remembrance of those brave men and women who have served in our military forces and defended our Country, with many making the ultimate sacrifice!
Freedom is NEVER free, and many of have lost loved ones in the many conflicts throughout history.  America is the greatest Country in the World, and we all need to constantly be aware of that, and ensure that our children and their children know what Memorial Day stands for.  God Bless America, and keep our Military, First Responders and all of us free and safe in His care.

THERE WILL BE BUS SERVICE FURNISHED BY THE DISTRICT FOR THE CONVENTION IN ORLANDO (SATURDAY ONLY).  THE COST WILL BE $20 PER PERSON AND WILL INCLUDE ADMISSION (WRIST BAND) TO THE CONVENTION.  THE BUS WILL PICK UP AT THE BROOKSVILLE LODGE AT 8:30 a.m. SHARP, AND LEAVE ORLANDO AT 5:30 p.m. FOR RETURN TO THE BROOKSVILLE LODGE, WITH APPROXIMATE ARRIVAL AT 7:30 p.m.

                                                                                                                  Larry White, P.E.R.

 From the House Committee:

The Lodge is now under new leadership.  A leadership that is totally committed to making the Lodge a place you want to be, every chance you have!  We need our members to come back and support YOUR Lodge!  On Friday evening, the 21st of April, our dinner dance was attended by only 13 patrons!  It is difficult or impossible for the Lodge to continue cooking food and paying for entertainment when few people attend.  We do know that many members seem to attend Friday nights at VFW Post 10209.   We need to know what the Lodge needs to do to have members and guests attend our functions to keep our Lodge from losing funds.

Is it the food; Is it the quality of entertainment; Is it a bad time for you; Is it too far for you to travel?  We will soon have survey sheets available at the bar for your comments and suggestions.  Please help us to make you members happy and supportive of the Lodge! There are several events scheduled in May, beginning with a Kentucky Derby Party on the sixth, with prizes for the best home-made fascinator!  We hope to see you all there!  A basket raffle will be held on Mother’s Day with lots of things for the ladies to enjoy.  Gentlemen, buy your tickets early to give your significant other a good chance at winning the basket!
