EXALTED RULER'S MESSAGE

I would like to thank all the members who have helped out in the month of January with cleaning, tree trimming and the burning of the tree debris.  The lodge looks great.  We can now see it from County Line Road.  There is more to do out back of the lodge to clean up from the hurricane. I would like to thank Phil Rafferty and Scotty McKeil for the work on replacing the bulbs in the parking lot lamps with new LED bulbs.  It makes the parking lot much safer for the members to see at night. It is now February and the first meeting is going to be PER night. It is also nomination of officers for the next year that evening and the second meeting is when we hold the vote for the new officers. We are having an upcoming fun night on the 24th of February.  It will be steak dinner night and the Not So Newlywed game show as entertainment. Hope to see everyone at the lodge during the month for one of our events.  GOD BLESS EVERYONE.
Larry White, P.E.R.

HOUSE COMMITTEE MESSAGE

Greetings from the House Committee.

We hope February finds everyone feeling well. There are a few things we want to give everyone the heads up on. March's steak shoot and spaghetti dinner have been moved to the second Saturday of the month, March 10th. We hope to see you all there, and apologize for any inconvenience.
Although it is on the calendar, the steak dinner on February 24th will be Valentine’s Day themed. Rather than a band, we will be bringing you the “not so newlywed game". Audience participation should make this especially fun, so don't miss out on being part of the game show.
Don't forget to sign up for the CPR/AED class being offered.  The cost is only $20 and by knowing it, you could save a life!  The certification card is good for 2 years. Dates are on the calendar.
The installation dinner will be held on March 24th, at 5:30p.m. As it stands now, roasted pork loin will be served.
Keep April 28th open, folks! The lodge will be having a picnic on the porch. Pauly Gee band will be playing. Burgers and hot dogs will be served with potato salad and Suzanne's famous baked beans! The cost for this is only $7 dollars.  We will be serving around 6:00 p.m.  Bring a chair to sit out by the bonfire!
As always, we want to thank everyone who has volunteered and continue to volunteer.  It is always appreciated.

God bless everyone.

A Message from your Leading Knight
Hello my friends,

Whew! That was some cold snap we had last month aay? It’s better now and I’m thinking just in time for our February and March events.
Check your bulletin calendar because there is going to be a dinner held for Valentines (I believe it’s going to be on the 24th) and that evening a fun filled night featuring a game called “The not so newlywed” game. It’s similar to the old TV game show “the newlywed game.”  As always, please purchase your tickets as early as possible. Call the lodge for details. 352 799 7148.
I’m sure the rumor has made its way around by now but, if you didn’t attend the New Year’s Eve party we held, you missed a grand time. Live music, give a ways, silent auctions, gift baskets, trivia games with prizes, and not to mention the out of this world smoked prime rib dinner that was served. Kudos to Dave Smith, Jennifer White, Suzanne Craven, Stan and Joanie, Sue and Norm, Tammy, Sherry and if I missed any of you, I apologize. JOB WELL DONE!!!
Also coming up is an event for St. Patties day…more on that soon.
The dedication ceremony for the new elk stand is in the works. The plaque has been purchased and as soon as we have solid info, we will be letting you all know about when it will be. I haven’t heard any feedback as to whether we use the Elk as the cover photo for the Herd so I guess everybody agrees with it…thank you!
For those of you who don’t get out too much these days, we recently changed the landscape we call the median. That is, the space between the parking lots. All of the trees and shrubs were removed to make room for newer, nicer landscaping and to let more light shine out onto the parking lot from the brand-new L.E.D lights we just installed in January. Brighter makes it safer!
We started a landscaping fund, (formerly known) as the “Elk” restitution fund and are accepting donations of any size to help offset the cost of our beautification efforts. If you give in the form of check, please designate in the memo, “landscaping fund” so it gets to the right place.  Thank you in advance for your generosity. Till next time.
Fraternally yours,
Phil Rafferty
